iPhone Lidar: The new most powerful tool for Architects
Architects are always looking for the newest and most powerful tools to help them design better buildings. Architects are innovative, and always like to try new tools, even if they are a little bit out of the ordinary.
The most recent tool that I’ve found in the iPhone is the Lidar scanner. You might think this is just another version of the laser measuring device that architects use now, but it is far different than those. The new iPhone 12 pro lets you scan an area and then process a textured mesh of that scan to scale. It’s perfect for architects that need to have quick rough measurements of a space.
The cost is very low, too — it literally comes with your next phone.
While many people think laser scanning tools are kind of cool, they aren’t really all that nice to work with — the iPhone Lidar is much better because you don’t need any special attachments or controllers; you can just use your iPhone and get exactly what you need in very little time. It’s not perfect, but just consider this to be the early version of this technology. We are in the Beta stage now. It’s still very early.
The iPhone Lidar scanner is changing the world of architecture as we know it. It’s allowing architects to stay ahead of their rivals and create better designs faster than ever before. It’s very powerful and will only get better as time goes on.
This kind of technology has been used in only the highest levels of architecture until now, but thanks to Apple it can be enjoyed by everyone with an iPhone. It’s making it possible for just about anyone to have their buildings scanned into the computer — this makes architects more productive than ever before!
This is not something we could do 10 years ago. Thanks to this iPhone technology, though, we are able to capture designs and existing architecture faster than ever.
I hope you start testing it out for yourself.
