Achieving a goal can be difficult, but getting and staying motivated is essential. There are many things that you can do to stay motivated- it all depends on what motivates you the most. In this blog post, we will discuss three strategies that work for different people and how they affect their productivity and stress levels.

Strategy # One: Find a Role Model to Motivate You. Some people are motivated by other peoples’ accomplishments and successes, while others like to follow what’s worked for them in the past. It’s important for you to identify which type of person you are so you can develop a strategy that works for you. Having a role model can motivate you because we tend to let ourselves down more than we like to let others down.

Strategy # Two: Create a Vision Board or Set Goals. Many people are motivated by visual images and reminders of what they’re working towards- even if those pictures look different than the ultimate goal. Setting visual goals reminds us of our purpose, but be sure to update those images and create new places where they can be viewed. We tend to ignore the things that are familiar in our environment.

Strategy # Three: Make a Schedule. For some, planning ahead of time is normal. Others like to be spontaneous. Just remember, what gets scheduled gets done.

To summarize: Create a plan to stay motivated by setting goals, having role models, creating reminders of your purpose, and scheduling time for those tasks that need it. Building habits and sticking to your goals is not always easy but they will reward you in the long run. Slow and steady progress.
